Dr. Engr. Imran Khan Elected as an Associate Fellow of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences

Congratulations! Dr. Engr. Imran Khan, Chairman of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department and Associate Professor. He has been honored with the prestigious title of Associate Fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS). This recognition is awarded to young scientists under the age of 45, who hold a PhD or an equivalent degree in science and technology fields, and who have demonstrated exceptional talent and significant contributions to their respective areas of expertise.

Dr. Khan’s election as an Associate Fellow is a testament to his outstanding achievements and his continued dedication to advancing science and technology in Bangladesh. As a young scientist, he joins a distinguished group of fellows who have made substantial impacts in their fields.

The Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, established in 1973, has long been recognized as the premier scientific body in the country. It was founded by Dr. M. Qudrat-i-Khoda, with 12 Foundation Fellows, and has grown to become a non-political, non-governmental organization committed to the advancement of science and technology. The Academy elects both national and foreign fellows based on their contributions to science and their global recognition of excellence.

Dr. Khan joins the ranks of renowned scientists such as Professor Dr. Jamal Nazrul Islam, National Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Professor Dr. Arun Kumar Basak, and Dr. Mubarak Ahmad Khan, Professor Dr. Hasina Khan all of whom are celebrated Fellows of the Academy.

His election as an Associate Fellow underscores his role as a promising leader in science and technology and adds another milestone to his illustrious career. This achievement further elevates his contributions to Bangladesh’s scientific community and his ongoing commitment to promoting innovation and excellence in engineering and technology. Notably, Dr. Khan has also been recognized in the prestigious top 2% of scientists list, compiled and published by Stanford University, USA, and Elsevier, for the fifth consecutive year. In addition to this achievement, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Discover Applied Sciences journal, published by Springer Nature.
