Dr. Engr. Imran Khan: Enlisted in the Top 2% List of the World's Scientists

For the fourth consecutive year, Dr. Engr. Imran Khan has achieved a remarkable milestone by consistently ranking in the top 2% of the world's scientists, both in terms of research impact for the most recent single year (2022) and career-long achievement.
Dr. Khan holds the positions of Chairman of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Director of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Cell at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST).
Dr. Khan's extensive body of work has been prominently featured in some of the world's most reputable and influential journals specialising in energy and sustainability. His research contributions can be found in esteemed publications such as Energy, Renewable Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews.
What sets Dr. Khan apart is his ability to bridge multiple disciplines, seamlessly connecting electrical engineering, environmental science, economics, and sociology in his research endeavours. His research interests encompass a wide range of critical topics, including sustainability assessments of electricity generation systems, effective management of electrical peak demand, sustainable electricity generation, emissions assessment of electricity generation systems, renewable solutions to energy poverty in developing economies, prosumerism, and waste-to-energy technologies. Predominantly, Dr. Khan's work focuses on exploring the intricate interplay between technology, society, the environment, and the economy, particularly concerning issues of energy access and security.
Currently, Dr. Khan serves as an Associate Editor for the SN Applied Sciences journal published by Springer Nature. He has also been a dedicated reviewer for several prestigious journals, including Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy, Sustainability and Society, Renewable Energy, and Sustainability. His contributions to the peer-review process have earned him the 'Outstanding Reviewer' accolade from renowned journals such as Applied Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Renewable Energy. Dr. Khan’s latest book, "Renewable Energy and Sustainability: Prospects in the Developing Economies," was recently published by Elsevier.

Dr. Khan also emphasised that his inclusion in this prestigious list is a testament to the significant impact and reach of the research conducted within the Department of EEE at Jashore University of Science and Technology. Dr. Khan leads the Energy Research Lab. at JUST.
It is worth noting that the publicly available database of top-cited scientists was developed by a group of researchers at Stanford University, employing a ranking method based on standardised citation metrics, which takes into account factors such as total author count and author position.
