EEE Day Celebrated at JUST with Festive Enthusiasm

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) celebrated “EEE Day” with great enthusiasm through a series of vibrant events, including a festive rally, pigeon releasing, cake cutting, project exhibition, quiz competition, and a discussion session.

The day-long celebration began on Sunday morning in front of the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Academic Building, where students, faculty members, and invited guests gathered to mark the occasion in a festive atmosphere.

The Vice-Chancellor of JUST, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Mazid, attended the program as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he described the EEE Department as one of the university’s enriched and promising departments. He noted that Bangladesh still largely depends on foreign technologies in this sector and expressed hope that students would engage more deeply in research and innovation in the future. He emphasized the importance of developing indigenous technologies to strengthen the sector and contribute to national development. The Chief Guest also expressed his desire to see an IEEE conference organized on the JUST campus in the near future and requested the Dean to take the necessary initiatives and steps in this regard.

The program was chaired by Professor Dr. Engr. Imran Khan, Chairman of the EEE Department and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The Treasurer of the university, Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun, was present as the Special Guest.

As part of the celebration, a project show was organized where students showcased their innovative engineering projects and research ideas. The EEE Club also arranged an engaging circuit quiz competition, and prizes were later distributed among the winners.

Among others present were Associate Professors Dr. Mehedi Hassan Jewel and Dr. Md. Moznuzzaman; Assistant Professors Md. Mehedi Hasan, Md. Tariquzzaman, Md. Tarequzzaman, Md. Robiul Islam; and Lecturers Nazmul Hasan, Shuvo Deb, and Jahedul Islam. Students from different academic years of the EEE Department actively participated in all activities.

It is noteworthy that the Department of EEE observes this day as “EEE Day” at JUST, marking the commencement of the department’s journey in 2012.

The colorful arrangement and enthusiastic participation made the celebration a memorable occasion, reflecting the unity, academic vibrancy, and growing excellence of the EEE community at JUST.
